An Irreplicable Paint Correction Process -Ceramic Studio Worx

Paint Surface Decontamination

The first steps in my paint correction process here at Ceramic Studio Worx is the complete hand washing and decontamination of the vehicle’s exterior surfaces, especially its finish. This will allow us to remove any built up dirt, dust, mud, and common residual contamination that might mask the likes of etching, swirl marks, and other minor discrepancies.

All-Encompassing Vehicle Inspection

After a two bucket hand wash and clay bar decontamination, I then move on to a thorough inspection of all exterior vehicle paintwork, taking notes on the type of defects that plague your clear coat. Especially if you have never noticed smaller, more meticulous defects in your finish, I find them to make sure every last one is remedied by the cutting, buffing, polishing, and jeweling stages of my paint correction packages. I also become familiar with the uniqueness of your ride’s body in the process.

Removing Defects with Abrasion

After the inspection, I then move on to the actual paint correction process. First, I use light abrasion on your vehicle’s exterior clear coat in conjunction with cutting compounds to level all the discrepancies that have collected in your finish over time here in Budd Lake, New Jersey. This stage is done carefully so as to not remove too much clear coat from your car, truck, or SUV.

Buffing and Polishing for Shine

In this final stage of automotive paint correction here at Ceramic Studio Worx, I buff, polish, and jewel the entirety of your vehicle’s surface following the cutting process. What this part of the process does is smooth what has developed a bit of a lackluster haze and removes the buildup of cutting compounds from your finish, revealing its beauty, richness of color, depth in detail, and overall shine.

Providing Correction Information About Paint Correction

Myth 1: Paint correction will fix all exterior issues with my ride

Paint correction, like everything, is not 100% effective against every defect, though I aim to remove up to 90% and more of common surface discrepancies in vehicles here at my Budd Lake, New Jersey detailing shop. This means that any deep scratches compromising the paint itself will not be able to be removed with basic auto paint correction services.

Myth 2: Ceramic Studio Worx removes dents during paint correction

Paint correction is the removal of light surface scratches and other discrepancies in the vehicle's exterior clear coat through cutting, buffing, and polishing. While I certainly pride myself in the skill it takes to perform paint correction here at Ceramic Studio Worx, my process will NOT remove any physical dents, fractures, or extensive damage found in your exterior as paint correction does not affect the shape and structure of your vehicle’s body itself.

Myth 3: I can buff and polish my own vehicle

It is common to think that some believe they can fix their own paint defects at home! Paint correction is an extremely delicate and complex process that requires various equipment and abrasion techniques. At this point, you know that paint correction can be a somewhat dangerous process to your car, truck, or SUV and it should most definitely not be attempted by any novice whatsoever!
